First was Room
This books had me from the back cover. The story is told from 5 year old Jack's perspective. He and his mother live in Room. 10 by 12 and he has never been anywhere else. He sleeps in the wardrobe at night so Old Nick cannot get him when he comes at night. If this doesn't pick your interest you need a shot of espresso ASAP! This is a must read. It was another that had me all over Wikipedia after it was over.
After room I needed to get a little lighter so I went back to my roots, a little YA!
Matched
The last book I've read my way through so far this summer (or really just the last week)
Divergent
Another dystopian society novel but better than Matched. Chicago is broken into five factions, Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Amity and Candor based on the traits a society needs. At 16 you must choose stay in your faction or switch. Tris cannot stay as abnegation anymore, selfless is not her thing. She switches to the priced and tattooed and fearless dauntless protectors and discovers herself and that maybe their society isn't as perfect as everyone thinks. Dauntless is pretty excited jumping off trains, repelling down the Hancock building, Oh, this is a good romance in this one too! This will be a trilogy too and never excited for the next one!
Well I read all of those in a week while ignoring my masters work, so who knows what next week will bring!
